About The Art of Being

These days it seems that we are often so busy doing that we take no time to just be. Not only that, often when we do take a minute to reflect on our lives, we do not really have any idea who or how we want to be anyway.

In 2007 Deb, Aimee & I (pictured here) commenced the original art of being project. The idea was to inspire people to look at the bright side of life through creative art and our collective therapeutic knowledge.

The foundation of the project was the completion of 69 artworks which we developed into motivational products including a Be tin of 69 cards, gift cards, design your own canvas prints and t-shirts. These products are no longer in production but posters & prints on canvas can still be purchased online. And of course there is our free screensaver featuring the original 69 images.

The team have now disbanded in the pursuit of other creative endeavours but the spirit of our connection lives on.

We started with the premise that you need to be a certain way before you can do the right actions to have the things you want in life. Basically you want to be in a mood or state that brings positive changes in how you function. So we did artworks to reflect ideas such as Be Happy, Be Loved, Be Excited etc. The brain can use the words and images to help set the journey you want to promote in your life to achieve goals or simply live by your values.

The Artists’ Intentions were these:
  • to inspire everyone to focus on the bright side of life
  • to foster happiness in the world by our creative energy
  • to share our collective wisdom via our art
  • to inspire others in the art of being alive
  • to offer choices about how it is possible to BE at any given moment
  • to encourage others to live their dreams and seek alternative ways of BEing
  • to learn skills from each other to enable our creative tool boxes to overflow
  • to add a creative dimension to our practical world
  • to laugh with one another
  • to live our dreams of putting our art into practice

Be the best version of yourself!
